{"id":288,"date":"2020-05-04T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chavalalo.mx\/?p=288"},"modified":"2020-05-03T16:17:49","modified_gmt":"2020-05-03T21:17:49","slug":"seamos-lideres-chingones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chavalalo.mx\/en\/seamos-lideres-chingones\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s become awesome leaders!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Mexic<em>o <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com.mx\/el-80-de-las-empresas-mexicanas-carece-de-lideres\/\">80% of companies lack leaders<\/a><\/em>, according to Forbes Mexico. Certainly, many must be thinking, \"It is not my case, I am a leader\", but there will also be many who perceive this problem in their companies; so, let me share with you what an awesome leader is to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The awesome leader<\/strong>, first of all, must be a person with vision, with a passion that spreads, someone who shows us a distant and challenging possibility, but manages to make it attractive to everyone. The leader should be the first one to be able to answer, where the heck are we going? and how far are we going to go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, he has to be a person with full <strong>knowledge of himself<\/strong>; that is, someone who identifies his weaknesses and exploits his strengths to the maximum, therefore surrounds himself with people who complement him and the project: an awesome leader focuses on<strong> developing the strengths<\/strong> of each member of his team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without a doubt, the leader must be a <strong>competent<\/strong>person, an expert in what he does, dedicate himself to knowing the market, mastering the business; but attention here, the challenge for the awesome leader is to <strong>keep the mindset of the beginner<\/strong>, and for this he undoubtedly requires an indispensable characteristic: <strong>humility<\/strong>; but, can our leaders be humble enough?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bosses who frequently use the phrase, \"no one will tell me how to run my business\"... are not leaders, perhaps there are exceptions, but they are a minority. Humility is what allows us to continue learning, and is also what makes us <strong>recognize our mistakes<\/strong> and correct the course when we make them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humility is perhaps the most important virtue of an awesome leader, because thanks to it, we give up the need to be \"the protagonists\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>An awesome leader does not shine, he illuminates.<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The leader must be <strong>empathetic<\/strong>, he must not only generate emotional empathy (be able to feel what the other feels), but also cognitive. What does this mean? A leader does not need to \"put himself in someone else\u2019s shoes\" - let\u2019s forget about that phrase once and for all-; we need <em>to understand<\/em> others... yes  <strong>!be able to understand that each person sees a different reality from ours, to understand the perspective and motivations of others.<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A real leader<strong> must be committed to creating safe spaces<\/strong> where there is no fear of the consequences of an error. We cannot be awesome leaders in companies where everyone is afraid to tell the \"leader\" that he is wrong, or to propose an idea because they will get fired! Seguramente muchos est\u00e1n pensando, &#8220;no es mi caso, yo s\u00ed soy un l\u00edder&#8221;, pero habr\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n quienes perciban este problema en sus empresas; los invito a que lean lo que es para m\u00ed un l\u00edder ching\u00f3n. El l\u00edder ching\u00f3n, antes que nada, debe de ser una persona con visi\u00f3n, con una pasi\u00f3n que se contagie, alguien que nos muestre una posibilidad distante y retadora, pero que logre hacerla atractiva para todos. El l\u00edder es el primero que debe poder responder, \u00bfa d\u00f3nde chingados vamos? y \u00bfqu\u00e9 tan alto vamos llegar? Ahora bien, tiene que ser una persona con pleno conocimiento de s\u00ed mismo; es decir, identifica sus debilidades y explota al m\u00e1ximo sus fortalezas, por lo tanto se rodea de gente que lo complemente a \u00e9l y al proyecto: un l\u00edder ching\u00f3n se enfoca en desarrollar las fortalezas de cada integrante de su equipo. Sin duda, el l\u00edder debe ser una persona competente, un experto en lo que hace, dedicarse a conocer la informaci\u00f3n del mercado, dominar el negocio; pero atenci\u00f3n aqu\u00ed, el reto para el l\u00edder ching\u00f3n es mantener la mente del principiante, y para esto requiere sin duda, la siguiente caracter\u00edstica: la humildad; pero, \u00bfpueden ser nuestros l\u00edderes lo suficientemente humildes? Los jefes que utilizan frecuentemente la frase, &#8220;a m\u00ed nadie me va a decir c\u00f3mo llevar mi negocio&#8221;&#8230; no son l\u00edderes, habr\u00e1 por ah\u00ed sus excepciones, pero son la minor\u00eda. La humildad es la que nos permite seguir aprendiendo, es la misma que hace que reconozcamos nuestros errores y corrijamos el rumbo cuando nos equivocamos. La humildad es quiz\u00e1s la virtud m\u00e1s importante de un l\u00edder ching\u00f3n, porque gracias tambi\u00e9n a ella, dejamos de querer ser &#8220;los protagonistas&#8221;. Un l\u00edder ching\u00f3n ilumina, no brilla. El l\u00edder tiene que ser emp\u00e1tico, no solo debe generar empat\u00eda afectiva (ser capaz de sentir lo que siente el otro), sino tambi\u00e9n cognitiva. \u00bfQu\u00e9 quiere decir esto? Un l\u00edder no necesita &#8220;ponerse en los zapatos del otro&#8221;, es m\u00e1s, dejemos esa frase en desuso; necesitamos entender a los dem\u00e1s&#8230; \u00a1s\u00ed!, ser capaces de entender que cada persona ve una realidad distinta a la nuestra, comprender la perspectiva y las motivaciones de los dem\u00e1s. El l\u00edder tiene el compromiso de generar espacios seguros donde no haya miedo a las consecuencias de un error. No podemos ser l\u00edderes chingones en empresas donde todos tienen miedo de decirle al &#8220;l\u00edder&#8221; que est\u00e1 mal o de proponer una idea \u00a1porque los corren!, eso simplemente no es liderazgo. Por \u00faltimo, el l\u00edder debe de ser asertivo, saber comunicarse, saber transmitir a la organizaci\u00f3n su mensaje; pero adem\u00e1s, saber escoger las batallas, establecer prioridades\u2026 e ir por todo.
